On Wednesday I went to the health department. I observed the NP and learned alot from her. She would explain the procedures and what things were. I got to watch 3 pelvic exams and talked to a girl about contraceptive measures. The NP was very helpful and never minded answering my questions.
On Thursday, I was in the nursery. I had so much fun. We had 15 babies in the nursery and it was a chorus of crying. Me, Amy and Jennifer went around and held the babies and tried to make them stop crying. I got to feed 3 babies which was awesome. I loved holding them and rocking them. I also got to give a Hep B shot to a baby girl. And I got to watch a circumcision. It wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. The baby cried when he was straped to the board and when he was being numbed. In the actual procedure, the baby was asleep. I got to learn alot and do alot on the last day of OB. I hate its already over but this rotation reassured me that I am wanting to be a L&D nurse. No doubt about it.
