What a great week! My patient was the same mom Donna and I monitored last week because of contractions. This week she delivered twin girls! Tushara (heard wonderful things about you!!!) and I had the same patient and it was an awesome experience. I gave many PO meds got to hang piggy backs and to top it off just got to sit and talk with her. It was an experience. Yesterday they were trying to pinpoint were the infection was coming from and they think it was caused by one of the baby's placenta's being infected. They did blood cultures on the babies and they came back neg. They had the mom on Gentamyacin and if her temp went up again they were going to do blood cultures on her. Can't understand why after giving her an antibiotic. She was a little down because she was ready to get home. This was probably the best week out of all 4 since I felt like I was actually helping my patient.
