Oops! I almost forgot to blog. I had a great last week in mother/baby. I had a 25 multipara who gave birth to her second boy. He was LGA at 8lb 3 oz. We had to do a blood culture and CBC on him (it took a few sticks, unfortunately, but he slept right through it), then we did his circ....all I can say is...OUCH!!!!! However, after his Lidocaine injections, he didn't seems to mind at all, I was curling my toes for him. He had been checked several times for him blood sugar and the blood culture was due to mom being GBS positive-she came to the hospital at 7cm and had him and 1 1/2 hours so they didn't get a chance to give her all the Ampicillin she needed. The baby was great, and mom was quite funny. I really loved being there and think that between L&D and Mother/Baby, I might have changed my career intentions to this (I'd take wither or).
