NE-Mother/Baby

This was my 1st week on the floor and I will have to say that going into it I was nervous. However, once I got going it was great! Thursday I took care of a 28 yo primagravida and her baby. She had a vaginal delivery and had no issues so my main thing was teaching. It felt really good to teach someone something that they did not know and I did! (that is unusual) Anyways, she was very sweet and receptive. On Friday, I came in @ 1:00 and she was getting ready to go home so I finished up my paperwork and saw her on her way. Mrs. Holcomb was nice enough to let me go on nursery duty (Thanks) and I had a wonderful time. I was able to see a circ., an IV started and blood drawn from a newborn that was having some issues. I also bathed a few babies, did some charting and played. It was great!
