L&D was great experience to see how interdisciplinary team works; nurses, MD and anesthesiologist.I observed a vaginal birth where Pt. was multipara so she pushed once and baby was out, no episiotomy, no epidural. The MD did not have time to put gloves on and she delivered baby without.I was a little bit wondering what if the Pt. has any of the bad things, such as HIV, Hep.B and etc.There was not enough time for her to put gloves but I observed the nurse that she was waiting on MD and Pt. was bulging already so she could prepare the gloves for MD and to help put gloves on. The second Pt. was laboring for more than 5 hrs. and finally come to the last phase. Pt. pushed 3 times and than MD decided to performe C-section because FHR was falling and I saw in one moment FHR of 78 bpm.I was scared for the baby. Few minutes after I have heard that code blue was called for the C-section and than I was scared to the death. Finally everything was fine and than the second day of the clinicals I was taking care of that baby. Amazing experience.
