First Week of Clinics

What an experience!!! The first day of clinic, I was assigned to Labor and Delivery. I was able to see a vaginal birth, of a first time mother. The baby catcher, as they are called at NEMC, called me over to help her physically check the newborn who was no more than 5 minutes old. She showed me the way she did an newborn assessment. On the second clinical day, I gave postpartum care to the baby's mom. I was able to teach the new mom about breastfeeding, which I enjoyed. Talking to the mom brought back so many memories of the day when I became a mother. I really enjoyed this week.
