Today I was in labor and delivery at RRMC. It was great!! It started out pretty slow...we had 3 lady's in labor but nobody was really ready. I did get to look at all the monitors showing the baby's heart beat and the mom's contractions...that was neat. I saw two internal FH monitors put in...one by the dr. and another by a nurse. Finally at the end of the day Hillary was nice enough to let me come in and watch her14yr old mom give birth. I was really torn. The mom did a really good job pushing and I got to hold her hand and help her hold her legs up to push. I just felt so sorry for her being so young and having to be a mom now. When the baby was finally born I got a really good look at him but I found myself wanting to just stay with the mom...I just wanted to hug her and tell her that everything was gonna be okay. She looked so bewildered and confused...anyway...I guess with me having a 13yr old and a 15yr old at home is why it got to me so much. I couldn't imagine one of them having a baby at this age. Anyway...it was still a great experience...something that I have never seen before and definatly a miracle!! Can't wait until next week...maybe I will get to see some more!! :)
