OB

I had clinicals at Rowan this past week. It was so much fun being on the L&D unit. I was in postpartum and had a mom who had a c-section. I was able to care for her and her baby. I mostly made sure she was comfortable, adm. pain meds and did the postpartum assessment. Her fundus was hard and easy to find. You kinda feel like an outsider because there are so many visitors coming in and out of the room welcoming the new baby to the world. I got to also go into the nursery and see a baby get their 1st bath and watch some of an assessment. Its so neat to be there in all the action. I can't wait for tomorrow. Hopefully I'll get to see a birth or give a baby a bath.

Hillary,

I pressed a wrong key and must have deleted my first comment. I just said that I was proud of you the 2nd clinical day, assessing and teaching your patient, and getting more comfortable with the "interruptions" of baby feedings and care, and lots of visitors. It was an adjustment to new med system and new charting on PP the first day, but you jumped right in and got your work done well. Hope you'll get a nursery experience this week.
